Granite Firepit

This is a sponsored post in partnership with Swenson Granite Works. I was provided with this firepit but all opinions and photos are my own.

I am so excited to share with you our new granite firepit from Swenson Granite Works! As you know we’ve worked hard all summer to turn our backyard into a Nantucket style retreat. We had this one little area left that we had planned to put a firepit but hadn’t determined what style we wanted there. When Swenson Granite Works contacted me about testing out their firepit we jumped at the chance because it was a high quality product that we thought it would fit into the backyard well and it was a DIY firepit… that took about 20 minutes to set up. We like easy and quality.

Here’s how simple the install was:

Make an approximately four foot wide by six inch deep  flat area to put the granite firepit. Dig a two foot deep hole in the center.

Layer the first level of granite stone making sure they are all as close to the same height as possible. The stones can be raised or lowered with a little more stone dust / dirt.

Add the second layer of stones and the metal grate.

We picked up the firepit in a pickup truck; the stones are incredibly heavy and on a palette so make sure you don’t make the mistake I made before of bringing a large SUV and thinking you will be all set. 🙂

I’d highly recommend checking out this firepit from Swenson Granite Works if you live in New England, it was so simple to set up! If you make sure to get a firepit cover to ensure the metal grate stays in good shape you’ll have an amazing long lasting piece for your backyard!
